Position Overview:
As a Design Engineer at Company Name , you will play a crucial role in the design and development of molds for industrial manufacturing processes.
Working closely with our engineering and production teams, you will be responsible for translating customer requirements and specifications into innovative mold designs that optimize production efficiency and quality.
From conceptualization to detailed design, you will leverage your technical expertise to create robust and reliable mold solutions that meet the highest standards of precision and performance.
Key
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives for mold manufacturing projects.
Utilize CAD software (e.
g.
, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to design and develop detailed mold layouts, including cavity layouts, gating systems, cooling channels, and ejection mechanisms.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the manufacturability and performance of proposed mold designs.
Generate 2D drawings and 3D models of mold components, assemblies, and tooling for production and machining.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that mold designs are optimized for production processes, including CNC machining, EDM, and assembly.
Conduct design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate feedback and ensure design integrity and functionality.
Perform tolerance analysis and design validation to ensure that molds meet dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during mold fabrication, testing, and validation activities.
Develop and maintain documentation, including mold drawings, specifications, and design records.
Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in mold design technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in mold design, preferably within the industrial manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.
g.
, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mold design and layout.
Strong knowledge of mold manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling technologies.
Experience with design analysis tools (e.
g.
, Finite Element Analysis) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to mold design and fabrication.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
